A Freebie for You!

Don’t you love to get free things? I do!

Here is a useful form to print for your students to use. Hope you find it helpful as you train your children to be accountable for their lives. This form is included in Homeschooling at the Speed of Life on the accompanying CD, but you are able to use it now – free! There are many more forms included on the CD in the book. Send your friends to my site so they can print it as well.

Instructions for using the form are included here:

Weekly Works - Students

One of our main objectives as parents should be to train our children to manage their own lives and activities. If we do our part in letting them gradually become accountable for their own responsibilities, they will be more capable than most young adults who never receive any training in these areas. If they need practice in organization and responsibility, this form can help them improve. Many students today prefer electronic means  to keep their appointments and records. The method isn’t important; the process of learning responsibility is the important part of their training. If your student owns a PDA or other device, encourage him to use it and hold him accountable for his activities.

There are two Weekly Works forms in The File-a-Plan System. One is for Mom or Dad and this one is for students. Those who like to see an entire week on one page would use this form.

Note the week and the date of the Monday for the week you are using the form (i.e., Week of Sept. 12) at the top left. Boxes are self explanatory and, of course, the studentmay not use all boxes every week.

The project boxes are an especially useful reminder to record continuing projects that might take more than one week to complete. The student can note the portion of the long-term project that he or she is to complete that week. He can record anything concerning finances in the Finances box, such as jobs to do for pay, money earned, personal or group expenses, tithe or giving money for churchor charity, and so forth. Make multiple copies for student use.

Let student file these sheets in his or her personal files as needed for further reference.
